For more than 20 years, Colette Robicheau has helped people Organize Anything. Her laidback and low-cost approach have made her a popular choice for people who want to downsize, relocate, prepare homes for sale and help loved ones move with as little stress as possible.
Moving is not easy. It requires hours of planning and coordination. Colette’s advanced communication skills and training allow her to get the big picture, and also carry through with the small stuff. She sets a firm foundation for the move with a complete needs assessment to fully understand the customer’s needs, move timeline and anticipated obstacles. Her approach is that of a navigator, guiding clients safely through turbulent times, to their destination.
Colette can alleviate the headaches of transitioning into a new geographic area and the difficult task of deciding what goes and what stays. Colette helps clients keep the things they truly want, need and that work in the new space.
Her special training and accreditations equip Colette to deliver qualified consultation for the emotional, mental, and physical aspects of relocating, rightsizing, or downsizing. She provides compassionate later life services offering support moving in or out, aging in place, along with suggestions for safety upgrades, suppliers, and resources. Working with family members, Colette helps coach, plan with, encourage, and communicate with hesitant or procrastinating loved ones to ensure a dignified, healthy, and safe transition at any stage of the relocation journey.
Specializing in working with Older Canadians, Colette recognizes that moving house is so much more than a one-day event. Ideally, Colette is hired to help clients and family members navigate from initial decision making, editing of possessions, preparing the home to sell, listing, to relocation. She works with a family to prepare their home for showings by organizing, decluttering, and repurposing what they have, to make the staging really pop. Taking clients room by room, Colette excels at downsizing. Whether you’re unsure of what you’ll need in your new space, or you’re just struggling to let things go, Colette’s system will have you downsized and packed with time to spare.
Colette can provide consultation on any individual aspect of the move. She is adept at scheduling and re-scheduling. She thinks ahead and does not only have a plan B, but a C and D plan as well. Having back up plans for when things go off the original plan saves worry, time and frustration.
For those moving a reluctant loved one, Colette is skilled at helping with critical conversations - providing guidance on the windows, timing and content of “the talk”.
Colette coaches every step of a move, from providing advice at the start to making sure that all the details of unpacking and safely settling in at the other end are handled.
Through her experience and education, Colette is familiar with navigating both the downsizing process, and the general decline in abilities of Older Canadians. She helps her clients with resources available to seniors, recognizing when help is needed, and locating available community support.
Because of her advanced studies and certifications with working with chronically disorganized individuals, she is able to tackle the toughest of scenarios. Her education also allows her to deal with personal preferences and the nuances of individuals and how they deal with “their stuff”. Colette professionally and tactfully helps clients eliminate the clutter. Disorganization can be caused by many factors including aging and mental health issues, neurologically based conditions, grief, family and health crises and transitions.
A long-standing member of the Serving Seniors Alliance – an organization of like-minded, trusted service provider businesses - Colette has presented globally about the challenges facing Seniors. She’s attended 70+ organizational conferences during her career as both a presenter, and as an attendee, learning as much as she can from international experts and colleagues about how best to help her clients.
Colette is committed to continuing her education regarding the needs of our aging population, as well as making information more accessible for her clients. She was a volunteer presenter for the ABC’s Of Fraud, an innovative and interactive, education and prevention program. Seniors gained the knowledge to preempt victimization, and reduce the financial, emotional, and physical decline, which often accompany the defrauding of an individual.
Colette, and Organize Anything, has liability insurance as well as national and international associations accreditation.
